The Journey to Fiction:
Inspirations Behind My Writing Adventure

My journey into fiction began with a deep-rooted love for storytelling, sparked by the imaginative worlds I explored in childhood. Influenced by both classic literature and the wonders of science, I found my voice in weaving tales that challenge perceptions and ignite curiosity. Each story I write is a reflection of my passion for knowledge and the human experience, inviting readers to embark on a journey through imagination.

Harald Tomesch is a Canadian-born writer, theologian, and professor whose life and work span three continents and countless disciplines. He considers himself equally Canadian, European, and American—an identity that informs the multicultural perspectives woven into both his fiction and academic work.

With a PhD focused on The Book of Hebrews: Genre and Outline, Harald has spent over 45 years teaching within the Lutheran university system. As a full professor of theology, he specialized in New Testament studies, biblical Greek, and systems theory, shaping generations of students through his deep knowledge of scripture and his passion for language, meaning, and moral structure.

His scholarly output is vast and respected, including books, lectures, and papers such as Hebrews: Feast and Future, Pharmakia – Strong Medicine in the New Testament, Genesis 8: Noah’s Promise for the World, and Redating the New Testament. His work on the literary structure and theological implications of Hebrews has been widely referenced, and he has spoken extensively on topics ranging from early Christian catechism to lectionary theory. He has also developed original Greek language tools and resources used by students and pastors worldwide.

Harald is the current president of the Word Weavers International – On the Border Chapter (Wisconsin/Illinois) and has been featured on programs such as Issues Etc., where he’s explored themes including Jesus’ titles in Hebrews, paradigms for preaching, and the sacramental imagery in early Christian texts. His sermons, homilies, and lectures are archived across a range of media, from print to YouTube.

Now writing full-time, Harald brings that same depth of thought to his fiction. His debut novel, The Hydrogen Bullet, is an upmarket thriller that merges ancient encryption with future-forward science, set against the stark beauty of Iceland and the global tensions of military innovation. The novel is the first in a planned trilogy, with The Lithium Diary and The Helium Voice to follow.

Whether teaching, inventing, or storytelling, Harald Tomesch remains committed to exploring how ideas shape action—and how stories can reveal the truth beneath the surface.
