Stephen King has written over 200 short stories in valuable collections like Just after Sunset and You Like It Darker. Some of his works conceived as short stories became full length novels. These include such novels as Misery and Gerald’s Game. In his book On Writing Stephen King offers and exercise (pages 170-173) in which he discusses finding a fossil and digging it up as you write. My short stories entitled, How Easy Is That and Back To Basics were written as part of the exercise offered by Stephen King.
